Flamingo
If you are traveling to the Miami area you are less
than an hour away to these fishing grounds. The
Everglades has established the reputation of being
one of the best fishing destinations in the entire
world. Whether you are a seasoned veteran angler
or a novice fisherman everyone that travels to
these remote lands can expect to go home with
an experience that will last a lifetime
Tackle and Gear
Captain Rich Smith always ensures his anglers
have only the very best equipment available to
them.  He is sponsored by many companies so
you can always expect to try the latest tackle the
fishing industry has to offer. Captain Rich uses
Van Staal and Quantum fly and spinning reels.
His rods are custom made by Fethastyx which
uses only the best materials and blanks on the
planet! Depending on the situation you may
expect to throw a G-Loomis, Sage, or Orvis blank
dressed up with some pretty fancy Bling!

The Everglades and Florida Bay has many species
of fish readily available to catch.  Some of which
include:
Snook, Tarpon, Redfish, Grouper,
Goliath Grouper, Sharks, Jack Crevalle, Cobia,
Triple Tail, and Mangrove Snapper
The Day of the Charter
Everglades fish charters are offered in 1/2 and
full day excursions. You can expect to be
meeting your captain at the dock generally
around 7A.M. and off the water either by 12 for a
half day and 3 or 4 for a full day charter.
Exploring Remote Ponds
You can experience fishing in some of the most
remote backcountry ponds Florida has to offer.
There are thousands of ponds in the Everglades
and each one of them holds
Snook, Tarpon,
Redfish
, and many more all year long.  During
these
backcountry fishing trips you will probably
not see a boat all day long.  So if you are looking
to get away from the daily grind of traffic and
cell phone ringing you have come to the right
place. Please be sure to check out some of the
backcountry fishing photos.
